 Making Good First Impressions Affordable

Suits U is a non-profit that aims to empower students through the art of dress. They do this by developing partnerships with corporations and businesses, collecting gently worn professional attire and making it available at affordable prices to students. After, all proceeds are donated to a local charity with a youth empowerment theme.

Founded in Toronto by University of Toronto students, Suits U has recently expanded across Canada opening chapters in Vancouver and Montreal. In 2016, the non-profit dressed 250 students which amounted to a $10,000 donation to Unity Charity, a non-profit that implements stress management and leadership development programming for youth in at-risk communities.

How The Professional Community is Getting Involved

Recently, Suits U has partnered with Strellson, a men’s fashion brand who is offering a $150 voucher for every suit donated. This partnership follows past fashion brand collaborations with Toms Place and Maison de Bows.

Companies that have continuously shown support of the Suits U mandate include McKinsey & Company, Davies, Bain & Company. In it’s initiative to expand, Suits U has also sponsored business cases at post-secondary institutions to introduce the brand and concept to students at different campuses.

Want to Help?

Suits U is run by students for students! The Toronto chapter recruits a new volunteer team around the end of every school year in March/April. These positions include: Design, Social Media, Communications, Logistics, Operations, Finance, and Business Development.

Brands and companies interested in collaborating can host suit drives. Suits U makes this easy by assisting with logistics, all the companies have to do is promote the drive internally.

Most noteworthy Suits U has seen exponential growth since their inception and increasing their impact every year. Their goal is to expand chapters across Canada, across borders, and overseas. Why? This is because good impressions matter and you make a better one when you feel and look your best.
