FASHION Humber is an online media presence dedicated to sharing, engaging, and experiencing the business side of fashion. Taking form as a capsule collection of content from a student perspective, FASHION Humber focuses on what is current in the fashion industry on both a local, national and global scale and what is current on the campus and in the classrooms where they study.
FASHION Humber is a product from students in the Fashion Management and Promotions Graduate Certificate program in The Business School at Humber College. As a requirement of the Integrated Marketing Communications course lead by Professor Anne Cramer, students are hired in various roles to create, curate, strategize and manage all things FASHION Humber. There are five teams that contribute to FASHION Humber’s success, including the Design team, the Content: Industry team, the Content: Humber team, the Social Media team and the Strategy and Analytics team. The FASHION Humber classroom is transformed into a business environment where students collaborate in a corporate-like setting and engage in the hands-on project.
FASHION Humber began in Fall 2014 on social media platforms as a voice for the fashion students at Humber College. It has evolved over the years with a growing social media portfolio using the handle @FASHIONhumber. In Winter 2017, the student-run website FASHIONHumber.com was officially launched.
FASHION Humber was created as a central space and link for things happening in the fashion programs at Humber College. Students from all fashion programs in The Business School including the Fashion Arts and Business Diploma program and Fashion Management Degree program are welcome and encouraged to participate.
