Pawanpreet Kaur is 22-year old Fashion Design student from Punjab, India who is now studying Fashion Management and Promotions at Humber College. Pawanpreet is a young, bubbly, and passionate woman who aspires to be a celebrity stylist/designer.
What inspires you?
I love fashion – anything related to fashion inspires me. I am often inspired from fashion shows, blogs, magazines and even street markets.
Why Humber College?
I chose Humber because it is one of the best colleges in Canada and it offered this fashion management program.
What do you have to say about the current fashion trends?
I think current fashion trends are more of fast fashion driven – meaning they are in the market for a shorter period of time.
Who is your favourite actor?
Bollywood – RANVEER SINGH. He is an amazing performer and actor!
Hollywood – Leonardo DiCaprio
What is one thing in your wardrobe that makes you feel awesome?
My new black ankle boots and my favourite customized denim jacket.
What is your one style obsession?
I am obsessed with denim. I have more than 15 pairs of jeans. Denim jackets, caps , skirts, shorts, you name it, I have it all.
What is your greatest strength and weakness?
My strength: love of my family
My weakness: I feel homesick at times
Who is your favourite designer?
There are so many designers who inspire me, however, SABHYASACHI MUKHERJEE from India is my favourite!
What is your dream destination?
To be honest, it was Canada. Now that I’ve moved here I would love to see and explore more of Canada and the US.
What is your favourite place at Humber College?
I love eating near the Fashion Humber Institute building and the lake. I enjoy spending my time there because it’s so beautiful and serene.
How is life in India different from life in Canada?
Pace of life in Canada is way faster than my country India. In Canada, there are more rules, regulations, less pollution and more work opportunities than in India. I love both countries though!
What was the last gift you gave someone?
I gifted my sister her favourite designer bag and a handmade card for her marriage and she really loved it.
