There is no such thing as an ideal timetable in school. It’s either we are crazy busy or we have too much time on our hands in between classes. It’s easy to get bored waiting for our next class if all we do is endlessly check our social media feeds on our phones, or binge watches our favorite Netflix show while avoiding doing our school work. So here are a few places you need to try when you have long breaks and nothing to do.
Humber Lakeshore
This place is just 5 minutes away from the L block and serves as a beautiful escape from the heavy school work and exam stress. Colonel Samuel Smith Park is right next to the waterfront and features bike trails, fishing, and bird-watching areas, as well as picnic tables for students to unwind. Although it is windy nowadays, it is a quiet and relaxing place during the summers with gorgeous Toronto views.
For all, you gamers out there, IGNITE’s got the perfect place for you. The Games Room is open Monday-Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and features pool and foosball tables, Xboxes, and Wii gaming consoles.
This is a school community located in the K block. It is an environment that encourages students to participate in various activities and provides several workshops and student programs to make people feel comfortable at school. I personally feel that IGNITE puts in a lot of effort to ensure that we as students are well taken care of.
IGNITE’S SLEEP LOUNGE
No more napping in class, thanks to IGNITE’s Sleep Lounge
If you have a morning class or you didn’t sleep well at night you can head to IGNITE’s sleep lounge where you can sleep for an hour or more if no one’s waiting. They have private booths with dim lights and temperature control.
Quick Bites
There are many options for students to eat near the campus. If you’re in the mood for some classic items, Snack Shack offers mouth-watering burgers, burrito bowls, tacos and banh mi. 850 Degrees Pizzeria is another wonderful place to grab something to eat as it has wood-fired pizzas made with local ingredients. However, if you’re looking for baked goods and fresh sandwiches Tatsu’s is definitely the place for you!
