Hey fashion lovers! Our focus today features Taiwanese-born fashion student, Hsu-Tien Lee. She loves watching movies, reading novels, visiting exhibitions and travelling all around the world. Arts, creativity and beautiful things are the food of her soul. She also loves to meet new people and listen to their stories as a way to make friends and learn from them. Hsu-Tien has loved living and studying in Canada and having new experiences everyday.
Taiwan, an island in the Pacific Ocean, is an attractive country with a name “Formosa”, which means beautiful. “We are proud of our natural sceneries, high mountains and beautiful beaches” she says. The people mainly speak Mandarin, however, there are more languages existing on the island. Aboriginal people have their own languages and traditional customs.
Taiwanese natives are most proud of the people and food. They are enthusiastic and kind to foreigners, something many travelers can attest to. Hsu-Tien says that the food is the one thing that she misses the most! Stinky tofu, beef noodle, pig blood cake, rice cake, oyster omelet, bubble tea – there’s so many choices! You can find many delicious foods at the night market, which is unique as it only exists in Taiwan. If you plan to visit the country, night markets should be put on the top of your “place to visit list” says Hsu-Tien.
Hsu-Tien has even more Taiwan cultural information that she would love to share with you, however, nothing can compare to living in Taiwan to gain the best cultural experiences. It’s never too late to visit Taiwan, the beautiful island with friendly people and delicious food.
