POP-STARS ICONIC STYLE

7 POPSTARS RELEASE SINGLES BASED ON THEIR STYLE . . .

. .  Just kidding!

But what if they had? I thought of helping out by decoding their style.

And obviously didn’t stop there. Delving into my inner songwriter, I just had to give them a title track each.

From minimalist to gaudy, these singers have established their distinct aesthetic and it’s surprising to see how consistent they are.

So, while I get busy designing the album covers (kidding again), scroll down to see whose style you identify with most.

My preference: Selena Gomez

1. Beyoncé – “Skirting the issue”

First up, its Queen B, with her bodycon skirts and soft ruffles. She’s fully aware of her shape and knows exactly what parts to flaunt and what parts to hide. Opting for a high waist, below-the-knee silhouette; she carefully accentuates her narrow waistline.

Notice another signature piece in her looks? The ‘crop top’.  Which she strategically uses to show off her midriff, adding the right amount of sexiness. Because anything more will destroy us!

2. Selena Gomez –  “Denim dreams”

Moving onto my personal favourite. Even though she is the most-followed person on Instagram, her everyday style is quite basic and achievable. Minimal, effortless and chic – she dresses like the girl next door and loves her jeans.

I wonder how many pairs she owns?

Sticking to a neutral palette of black, white and beige; her tops are simple and it looks like she has a thing for jackets (and Justin Bieber).

3. Rihanna – “Drop it off the shoulder”

Be it the bedazzled Adam Selman naked dress or the blue tiered Goddard gown, Rihanna’s fashion choices are always extreme. And just impossible to copy.

‘Bad Girl Riri’ can make a tutu look edgy and has unknowingly become a fashion authority. While her red-carpet appearances are undoubtedly outlandish, some of her street style looks might be within reach. Off-the-shoulder and oversized are the two rules you need to start swearing by.

4. Taylor Swift – “Keep it short”

She may be trying to build a new Reputation (pun intended), but it still looks like she’s walked out of a teen movie from the early 2000’s. Mean Girls maybe? Try imagining her on the cover in place of Rachel McAdams. Definitely suited to rule “The Plastics”!

Miss Country Girl rarely experiments with her fashion choices and loves showing off her long legs in tiny skater skirts and mini dresses. {Soft florals + pastel colors} is her go-to formula and she rarely strays.

5. Nicki Minaj – “The rainbow is me”

When I think of Nicki, only one word comes to mind – Outrageous! But that’s her space and she owns it.

The heavy mix and match of color and decorative themes suggest that she gets her inspirations from Decora – a Japanese street style subculture.

Known to cause a fashion commotion, the rap queen is unapologetic and will certainly get the crowds talking.

6. Dua Lipa – “Saved by the bralette”

This British pop sensation definitely doesn’t reflect Her Majesty the Queen’s sophisticated style. And we’re not complaining! Those surfboard abs deserve to be showcased and Lipa does a damn good job at that.

Often spotted in well-tailored trousers, she generally goes for a two-piece look that is bold and foxy.

There’s no question she’s setting ‘New Rules’ and we’re here to count’em.

7. Ariana Grande – “My sweatshirt and I”

Definitely one of the least expensive wardrobes on the list, I’d say. Value Village being an apt choice if you want to steal her style. But having said that, Ariana still manages to look casual, sexy and glam – all at the same time.

Petite as she is, even an XS sweatshirt would look big on her. Which she kinda uses to her advantage to win the borrowed-from-boyfriend look of the year.

And don’t miss the thigh-high boots, essential in getting to the next boyfriend’s closet.
