For Narces, fashion is something that comes naturally, and this proved to be true during her latest fashion show at Toronto Fashion Week. The Austrian-born designer Nikki Wirthensohn Yassemi – who resides in Toronto – brought her A-game with new and exciting silhouettes, colour combinations and fabrics for her FW19 collection.
The garments were anything but ordinary, with hand-beading, sequins, silk fabrics, ruffles, and asymmetrical silhouettes that evoked a refreshing excitement in the collection. Some looks were reminiscent of iconic eras like the 90’s, recalling trends similar to those seen in Sex and The City, with bold colours and shapes that Ms. Carrie Bradshaw would wear herself. Others, however, were more classic and celebratory of iconic looks such as the hat worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, bringing classic Hollywood glam to the runway.
Narces’ designs didn’t shy away from colour; despite it being a fall/winter collection. The models sported gowns ranging from jewel tones to neons to pastels, with electric green and bright yellow standing out on the runway. The collection provides a little bit of everything for its audience, making sure it suits everyone’s taste and preferences for the upcoming Fall and Winter seasons.
